About

I'm a 40-something academic teaching marketing in a business school. This is my personal blog, the main focus of which is to document my running progress. I've been through the loop of running regularly for a few months, getting up to 8-10k or so and then falling out of the habit several times over the last 10 years or so. I started running again in January this year and amazingly I've stuck with it, managing to run 4-5 times per week (with a couple of breaks for illness / injury) fairly consistently. Now I feel like I'm really getting somewhere. For the first time ever running feels like a positive part of my life rather than a chore. In January I was struggling to cover 3.5k in half an hour. Now I can cover 10k in under an hour and, for the first time ever, I'm starting to feel like a real runner. I've signed up for a half marathon in October. This blog will document my progress.
